A merry Christmas to you all this year!
2001 has been a fairly poor year for aviation, but the seeds of recovery are already starting to appear, so let's hope it continues and that the recovery, once under way, will be quick and sustained and that the industry we all love and enjoy will bounce back to its best.
Just to end - an old one, but one of my favourites. Santa, while taking his annual flight test with the Finnish aviation authority, had a bit of a shock on the final part. The checkie sat beside him with a rifle. "Oh, don't worry - I just want to see how you react to an engine failure failure on takeoff." Most of the reindeer bolted.
Nollaig shona dhaoibh go leir! (Irish for "a very merry Christmas to you all!" - just take my word for it!)
