PAT - Portugal Air Tours will be the new portuguese charter airline. TAP is going to have 51% of this new airline and the remaining is to share between 3 portuguese tour operators.
The fleet will be formed by A320's and L-1011's and is planned to begin operations in the next Summer.
Luis, Faro, Portugal
PS I don't know if YWG or YYJ are possible destinations for this airline, sorry.

Good, It seems that SATA has had the Portugese charter market to it's self for too long, from the UK anyway. There isn't as much business as there used to be, most Tour Operators source their seats from their own airlines leving local carriers to fly FNC-BHX, FAO-NCL or FAO-EXT for example
We used to recieve Air Atlantis and Air Columbus before they ended operations.
Lets hope Portugal Air Tours has better luck. It's interesting TAP is involved, didn't they make the decision to wind up Air Atlantis and stop charter flying?

he he he Flytime, maybe next year (2001).
Jet Setter, in fact it was a decision by TAP to put an end to Air Atlantis, belive me or not but Air Atlantis was having more profits than TAP itself, so the mother airline didn't like this and Air Atlantis was finished.
I always belive that there is a market for more charter airlines here, because the Algarve is a turistic destination to central and north Europe countries.
Also at this time, many flights from/to FAO are operated by spanish airlines like Spanair, Air Europa or the ex Aviaco.
