Hey, I took this picture this morning at IAD. Does anyone know who owns it and where it's from?

He is the Saudi Arabian embassador to the U.S. The plane is always parked there.

The aircraft has been there every time I came to Dulles, driving away from the main terminal on your right hand side

Some regular plane-spotters at IAD
told me the pilots/crew on that A340 carry
side-arms... usually only a dozen or
so passengers get on and the planes
leaves...

This is probably the next best thing,
after Air Force One...

I would have thought the next best thing to Air Force One would have been V8-ALI

The a/c is owned by the Saudi Prince and is based out of IAD. It is guarded by Vance Security and is parked at Signature flight support on the East Side of the field. And when it goes out the call sign is HZ-126 heavy. I only know tis because I work at IAD.

Which Prince ?? lol I believed it was the Saudi ambassador to the US, isn't it ?

And why HZ-126 ? The registration is HZ-124.

Actually for some odd reason they use the alternate call sign. As far as which prince I am not sure but I have seen the amount of security.

With all that money to spend, he could at least have a better livery.  Smile

This reminds me of old Britannia colors. Yuck.

The Saudi ambassador to the US is Bandar Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz. More important, he is a prince.
