Hi all,

I've received numerous requests to make the videos I took in St. Maarten available for download again, so here they are. All videos are about 5.3mb.  Smile

http://www.airdisaster.com/graphics/sxmvideo/af747-land-09.mpg
Air France 747-200 arriving on Runway 09 from Paris; video taken from a point just north of the Runway 09 extended centerline.

http://www.airdisaster.com/graphics/sxmvideo/af747-depart-09.mpg
Air France 747-200 departing Runway 09 to Santo Domingo; video taken from the roof of the Maho Beach Hotel, and shows the effects of the jetblast literally blowing people into the water near the runway.

http://www.airdisaster.com/graphics/sxmvideo/cor747-land-over-maho.mpg
Corsair 747-200 arriving from Paris; taken from the north side of Maho Beach, offering a profile view of the approach.

http://www.airdisaster.com/graphics/sxmvideo/bwiam80-land09.mpg
BWIA MD-80 arriving on Runway 09; taken from the beach right at centerline of runway 09.

http://www.airdisaster.com/graphics/sxmvideo/aa757-land-over-maho.mpg
American 757-200 arriving; taken from the north side of Maho Beach, offering a profile view of the approach.

http://www.airdisaster.com/graphics/sxmvideo/klm747-goaround.mpg
KLM 747-200(SUD) on a go around on about a half mile final. He was WAYY too high on approach.

That's all. Enjoy!  Smile

Chris

I love that AF blowing the people into the water. I'm surprised they don't close that area of the beach.

Somebody, sometime is going to make some money by putting together a 60 minute video, consisting of nothing but arrivals and departures at this beach/airport. And when somebody does it, I want one.

Me too, Sleekjet! Ive always wnated to go there ever since I got my first postcard of a KL 743 crossing the beach. The place is gorgeous...just to lie on that beach and have 747s coming in over your head...can't be too many other things like it! Unfortunately, I don't know if a video would ever be able to accurately portray that...but it wold still be worth it.

Sleekjet, www.justplanes.com has a video on it.
Vafi88, 11am-3pm seems to be the big rush of aircraft (jets) coming in which would be about 10 of them on a good day. But it was the slow season anyways...
