What now?

PS. Anyone hearing that Virgin Blue is ferrying it's entire fleet to Brisbane tonight?

Howdy AJ

I have some trouble believing a news report which has some basic information incorrect.

The new owners have also given travellers a hint of the new Ansett culture by hiring the former head of a British-based no-frills carrier to run the airline.

Mr Fox and Mr Lew have hired the former chief operating officer from no-frills British carrier bmi british midland to run the airline.

Since when has bmi been a no-frills airline? It has always been a full-service airline, and from what I understand, they were/are one of the best in Europe for their service.

Never heard about the DJ rumour....but do tell  Smile

I think AN could do with a new livery/colour scheme- this will not only look more stunning but it will clear the general public's perception of the airline after recent events e.g 767 debacle etc. Anyone know any good colours they could use???

Wirraway, I had heard it as more of a PR move than doom and gloom, but I must admit PPrune is nought but boring with it all.
Mx5, yeah, odd no frills airline that runs with Business Class, maybe they mean a financial sound airline, now that would be novel!

As long as it hasn't got red in it..  Wink/being sarcastic

I wouldn't imagine they'd keep the current livery at any rate, I just hope the new one is just as nice though. Smile

I liked the Ansett livery of the 1980's and early 1990's. It looked really cool don't know why they changed it(in 1995). What about the AN livery of the 1970's i've seen some photos certainly looked interesting.

I remember reading about the demise of Air Europe in Great Britain, the first airline to fall victim to BA's 'Dirty Tricks'. If I remember rightly, they were not in serious difficulties, but rumours kept spreading about paying for fuel in cash, and keeping aircraft away from angry airport authorities, and all that bull@$#%!. These rumours led back to British Airways. After a while, it was enough to scare the banks into recalling their loans, putting the airline into recievership. Lets just hope that the same sort of rumour based smear campaign isn't happening to Virgin, the last thing Australian skies need is this anticompetitive crap

I like the shooting stars livery. That looked so neat especially on the 727 and it even made the 737 look cool.

I rekon that if they should change the current awesome logo, they should revamp the old shooting star logo....and bring it back...

If I had anything to do with it, the shooting stars would be back in an instant...and maybe a slight bit of silver somewhere on the fuselage. The shooting six stars of the southern cross are easily recognizeable showing AN to be the "six star service" airline.

If they are after a new name, logo etc, I know the Melbourne company that did all the work for the relaunch of AN/NZ including new name and logo. Following AN's collapse this came to nothing and the design company are currently chasing NZ for payment so if Tesna want a headstart on a rebranding they may want to give this company a call. Until NZ pay up all this stuff is the property of the design company.

Guys,

Please leave the starmark. It has to be one of the most distinguished and elegant livery's I've seen.

Perhaps that can 'freshen' it up a little more?

Cheers,

mb

I absoloutly love the current livery on Ansett, but unfortunatley I do think that Ansett needs a livery change due to their tarnished reputation RE; last year's events.
