Finally- Photo Of Southwest's Repainted 737-200

Here it finally is.....a photo of Southwest's only 737-200 repainted in its new livery. This aircraft was repainted more than 6 months ago and many people didn't believe it existed.....here's proof.

Didn't believe? In an earlier thread on the topic, I confirmed its existence- I see it pretty much daily, sometimes multiple times; my office looks out on approach path for DAL.

My WN source tells me that WN did not intend that the 732 be painted in the new livery; and that no others will be.

...three miles from BRONS, clear for the ILS one five approach...

This plane was not supposed to be repainted, however went in for it's D check, and maintenance repainted it. It cost that company $300,000+, we did not pay a dime for it. There are 2 -200's painted in the new colors, neither of which have the new interior.

Accidental painting or not, she does look lovely - 737-200s are great anyway and look fab in any colour scheme!

I flew on this aircraft back in August from JAX-FLL, it did have the club seating interior on it, and was in the new scheme at that time as well...wasnt aware that it was one of the only 732 in the new colors...

YEAH! I have been looking all over for one of those! I saw it once here in TPA a few months ago but that was it. We dont see alot of 200's around here these days.

They still have a ton. No word on their retirement. I think that they ordered more 73G's to take over on some -200 routes though. I saw a lot of them take off at AUS today, man do they make a ton of black, thick smoke!

One thing I don't like about it is, you always know the traditional Gold and Red of WN, then when you see that from a distance, you think "what the hell airline is that" then you realize they repainted their planes.

I rode on the repainted 732 back in october, IND-STL. Man was it a nice ride, but the interior was in pretty bad shape. I was hoping to see the new leather, but no such luck. Did I mention how smooth the ride was? Loved it better than the 73G on my connecting flight.

I flew on Southwest 732s last week on an ELP-DAL-AUS-DAL-ELP run. Twice I got N87SW. Man...Love Field is a haven for SW 732s. The interiors were in good condition and they provided nice rides.
