Qatar Airways have anounced that they are considering ordering more aircraft including more A380's. Ever since 1996 they have carried 30-60% more passengers each year and by that rate the 380's will be usefull in 5 years time. They are also considering other medium-long haul aircraft to provide the capacity needed for the Asian Games in 2006 when the A380 won't be ready yet. GF has reduced drastically direct services out of Doha International Airport and because of that by the End of 2002 QR will be the only official carrier of the State of Qatar. Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to get more frequencies and MH is extremely happy with the codeshare as they have been able to fill there share of the aircraft most of the time. London, Munich and Maldives are rumoured to get more frequencies soon too.
BTW the first delivery of the A330-200 is scheduled in April 2002.

There is currently a lack of long haul aircraft in the fleet and after the A330's start to arrive there new "focus point" is Asia Pacific. One of QR's first goals was to set up a strong regional route network and this is in place now and their second is to focus on Asia Pacific. They only have 4 routes to Asia now Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur; the latter two added in December 17th
