FZO-just a frickin flight!
5-10 years ago they were considering building a new £50m terminal building at FZO and turn it into a commercial airport, but the residents complained about the noise and traffic, and so it never materialized. Instead they built a Mall, which probably has 10,000 people through a day.
So much for the traffic, stupid bristolian dumbasses!

Far-fetched... but here they are:
New York / Newark [KM had it a couple of times, but last time round, it lost Lm 0.4 M in one season]
Toronto [Was rumoured as the obvious combination for NYC (KM)]
Singapore, Kuala Lumpur [(KM, SQ?)Changi Airport is to manage MLA (?); Lots of migrants in Oz; Cargo]
Jeddah [(KM) Could explore in combi with DXB]
Canary Islands [to fly me there every other week!!]
Bahrain [used to be served in combi with DXB by KM, codesharing with GF]
Muscat [(KM) same as Jeddah]
Kuwait [(KM) same as BAH]
Algiers [(KM) A short 90 minute hop away... for connecting traffic]
Addis Ababa [(KM) for connecting traffic... ET is one of the most populated (though poor) countries in Africa]
Khartoum [(KM) same as above]
Sanaa / Aden [(KM) same as Jeddah]
Faro [(KM/TAP) to fly me there to visit my 'crazy' friends]
Madrid [KM used to fly there... ; SP v. popular with the local holidaymakers]
Barcelona [same as above...; one flight per week in July & August is kind of too little... & 'inconvenient']
Alicante [same as MAD]
Malaga [same as MAD]
Ankara [(KM) same as Faro; connecting traffic]
Pescara [(KM) connecting traffic]
Reggio di Calabria ["]
Bergamo [KM has its subsidiary Azzurra AIR to feed]
Alexandria [(KM) connecting traffic]
Helsinki [(KM) rumoured for a couple of years now]
Heraklion [(KM) connecting traffic; holiday travellers]
Benghazi [KM used to fly there, and I bet it was making them good money, but somehow, it was discountinued]
...Maybe if we stike oil again, some day in the future, without any bloody interference from Libya, we'll have our own Dubai & ''Emirates'' in a few decades' time!

MST-FRA (KLM-exel or Lufthansa)
MST-THF (KLM-exel or Lufthansa) (was cancelled 1 year ago)
MST-HAM (KLM-exel or Lufthansa)
MST-LHR (British Airways)
MST-MXP (KLM-exel) (cancelled due to the crisis)
Frankfurt and Hamburg have the most chance of success. The MST-MUC route is quite succesfull (KLM exel, ERJ-145 3x a day) as the airport is situated closeby the german border.
Berlin and Milan were cancelled but especially Berlin would be an option. THe flight was cancelled with a yield of 20% with 4 daily ERJ-145 flights. A simple downgrade to 3 flights a day with a smaller aircraft would make quite the difference.
