Crossair was nice. Why do they want to change the name ? Ok, Swissair cant be use anymore for legal reason but not Crossair. I'm sad cause i think the new company will lost the "Crossair spirit"...
"Air Switzerland" is not pretty... Why not "Air Cheese" ??? Come on, it's ridiculous...
I think that some people who were responsible for the SR "fiasco" just want to take control of the new company... So sad...

According to a poll by a local paper, out of the 30 or so names that have been nominated, the most popular one is "Swiss Airlines".
Funny enough, the 2nd place (with about 20%) was given to "Troudair" which phonetically sounds like "trou d'air" which means turbulance (literally air hole).

Hello
In my opinion Air Switzerland and Air Swiss sound very cheap. They want to be a quality airline, they should have a unique name such as Swiss World Airways.
As a Crossair fan I would like to see Crossair of course but I think that they already lost a part of the Crossair spirit!

Oh, do you really think so RJ ? Why ?
By the way everyone, why is the title of the topic "SR new name" ? SR doesnt exist anymore. The title should be "New name for the new swiss national carrier" Huh ?

Rey777: Since Moritz Suter left the company a lot of things changed (or will change). You probably agree that the old Crossair was a great company. Why? Because of the people that worked at Crossair. Now the board changed and all those people are Swissair influenced by Rainer E. Gut who was sitting in the old SR board. He was the one that wanted to buy Sabena and you know what happened then...

Maybe Rainer E. Gut could buy Swisswings ( a small Swiss carrier; not doing too bad) and destroy them (like he destroyed SR and LX) and take their name!
