What do you think? What is the best company in NA?
My opinnion is that Delta is!! I have flown whit Delta 13 times in USA in 1998 October, because we had a tournee and Finnair had code-shares whit Delta. We flew on Delta 727-247 (N2813W) from SLC to SFO. We nearly had a mid-air collision but all went fine. I really liked the flights on Delta...

Sorry to disappoint you but all US Carriers suck. No two ways about it. They all conspire to offer new lows in service and reliability. Above all, they are cheap, and cut corners wherever possible. Some have newer aircraft than others but none of them deserve any medals.

I suppose the same thing would happen if Finnair suddenly had 25 times the volume it currently does.
Look for things to get worse as overpopulation and even larger pax volume continue.

Hey There,
Just a quick letter to say in my opinion it would have to be Air Canada. I am not to pleased though about them taking over their Competition Canadi>n Airlines. But I would have to say this because I have Flown on quite a few airlines and nothing comes close to the service and the newer fleet that they have. I have flown on United and American and Eastern ( when in its prime ) Also on Twa and Northwest. None of these Airlines Come close in my mind!! But to talk of airlines of the past I would have to go with Braniff. I loved flying them when they had all their funky Colours!! I wonder who decided to paint their fleet like that!! I think that they enjoyed the 60's a little to much!!
Anyway I must go now talk to you all later!!

You've left an obvious answer by wording the question that way. It's the best carrier in NORTH America. And I think you'll have to look NORTH of the United States of America to find it. I think with that kind of hint, you can guess which airline I'm talking about...

United are the best of a very poor lot in my experience (having flown them enough to get Premier frequent flyer status, now lapsed). My experience though is that in general the US airlines are cramped and uncomfortable, frequently badly overbooked (every single time I flew United LGW to the US, regardless of destination, they were so badly overbooked that they were handing every passenger a photocopied sheet offering incentives to take a later flight), poor service (unfriendly, lazy cabin staff - on one United 777 flight across the Atlantic I saw 6 or 8 stewardess call lights, my own included, lit up for a period of 45 minutes - and nobody came to check on what potentially could have been 6 or 8 distressed passengers. When I went back to the galley to find out what was up, there were two flight attendants in there - one was stacking a duty free trolley, and the other was playing with a passenger's baby. Neither ever came back to answer the call lights, btw - they just ignored them.

If you want service, take an Asian airline. If you want fairly cheap, and an ulcer, take an American one.

I made 7 flights with UA this september including two trans Atlantic and I think they are EXCELLENT. They've put new standards in Airline sector in the U.S

Defenitly the best U.S carrier for me even in domestic service and they have very good hubs in IAD & Denver.

You folks need to try Midwest Express Airlines. It is not as big as AA UA USairways but it tops them all. There is a reason it has been ranked number one in most travel publications for years. After that Alaska is good too. The rest of them.....NAAAA

I would rank Shuttle America as the best. This airline is a little known Hartford based airline; however, it is the best airline I have ever traveled. Their all Dash 8-300 fleet is equiped with all leather seats which are spaced further apart than most airlines. The flight attendants are very friendly. This airline does not overbook its flights. The pilots are very experienced and friendly. They offer the lowest fares I have ever seen plus they fly to convenient regional airports that have a relaxed environment without the hustle and bustle of major International airports.
