VLM has been rumored so often to go jets (Avro, FD728), so who knows. KLC still seems happy with the F70, although there have been rumors about the A319.
With mother KLM a 737NG, I don't think it would make sense.

Air Orange, KLM Cityhopper has just recently signed a Letter of Intent for 30 728JET to replace the F50/70 fleet fromthe middle of this decade onwards. VLMhas been said to be interested in the 728JET but that was already some 18 month ago. Still, very nice pictures... The VLM looks really cude. Could you design a 728JET with these colors as well?

Well with a RWY of 1510m, you can land a small jet (737 and probably an A318) to ANR but I guess with heavy payload restrictions, and definately not in case of contaminated runway. Therefore, for a local based operator such as VLM, flying that aircraft out of ANR would be absolutely ridiculous. The Belgian weather is often very bad so you can expect a wet runway on a nearly daily basis. But on the other hand, if VLM is willing to create a new base on a larger airport, the A318 might be an option I agree.
