JetBlue has announced it will add a third daily JFK-OAK roundtrip flight beginning March 10th.

OAK dep. JFK arr.
7:00AM 3:10PM
11:50AM 8:00PM
10:00PM 6:10AM

JFK dep. OAK arr.
7:20AM 10:55AM
5:30PM 9:05PM
9:25PM 1:00AM

Glad to see this happen, though I'm not sure about the convenience of the timing. Hopefully JetBlue may tweak with this in the future.

The timings are excellent. Living in the North Coast of California it is difficult to get to OAK by 5.00am for the 7.00am flight and I don't like the redeye flights. The 5.20pm JFK to OAK is also great because it gives you a full day in NYC and still gets you to OAK pretty early.

And AA retaliates with two daily 757 JFK-OAK flights starting March 2nd.

Also starting July 2nd AA launches 2 daily 757 flights from JFK-Ontario (another Jet Blue route), looks like Jet Blue has gotten AA's attention at JFK now that DL has started pulling back flights.

C'mon JB...when are you coming to Houston ?

Don't tell me that you are afraid of li'l ol' Southwest ?! They don't even fly to JFK......though I guess ISP might be a tad close

Interesting about AA making a bit of a splash at OAK....too bad OAK will be shit to get to for a few years with construction. Even with AirBART.

If JB has any b@lls they'll start JFK-DFW to piss off AA, it would be interesting to see how CAL would react to JB entering the NY-Houston market.

I would think CAL would act aggressively towards new IAH service, maybe less so at HOU.

Jet Blue might be smart to concentrate their growth away from JFK at Long Beach and IAD, that way they can expand to places like Houston without pissing off the big boys.

I wonder has B6 considered a JFK-SJC route? That could be quite popular with people in the southern Bay Area, unless AA has its own ideas.

AA already flies JFK-SJC, and CAL flies EWR-SJC.

Will there be a glut of capacity on this route after these three new flights (2 AA and 1 B6) are added? I'm surprised that AA isn't using 738s which I believe have the range for this flight. I'm not so sure that AA can fill two 757s each day.

There's no AA 737-800 base at JFK, the smallest aircraft AA has based at JFK is the 757.
