Where Did Southwest Get These Planes? (1991)

I was looking at Southwest pics and I found a couple that are silver with a red/yellow line. What airline did Southwest get these planes from? My only guess is AA when they took over AirCal, they sold them to Southwest? Anyone know?

You are correct.

American acquired 7 or 8 733's from AirCal. All of which went to Southwest. Some of which still have their AA reg #'s on them.

If memory serves correctly, one of them (N677AA?) somehow wound up with Morris Air, only to end up right back at Southwest.

That 737-200 came from the original Midway after they collapsed in November or December 1991.
