now that airtran favors bwi over phl, what gates will airtran use in phl. during the summer i think they were planning to use 4 new gates at terminal D scheduled to open soon, however now that they have around 10-12 flights a day there is no reason to need 4 gates. will they take twa's old gates? what airline will take the gates at D, because they have been designated as lowcost airlines only. with most other lowcost airlines in phl operating no more than 5 flights a day, i dont know who would want 4 gates, will ATA?

ATA will probably move into one of the new gates provided that they will fit the 757 and 738.
I could see AirTran waiting for the gates to be completed before they announce any new service. We will probably see service to BOS, and maybe more Florida. PHL-Florida loads are mostly O/D so they don't need the highest fares to have nice margins. I think FL might take 3 gates, and they will most likely take 2.
usairways85: AirTran finally sort of added a fifth PHL-ATL flight. It arrives on Tues and Sat starting 3/9 from ATL at 12:40am, and leaves that day at 7:20pm. Does anyone know what the aircraft does during the 18+ hours it will be in PHL?

wow that is good that they are adding a 5th flight however they are dropping the pit-phl route to 2. do you really think they will add phl-bos flights even though they have about 5 from bwi. what do you think about ata, will they expand at phl? who will take twa's old gates?

yeah i remember posting something about airtran, however i got few responses so i though i would try again. i guess i am very impatient when it comes to any new flights into phl. even if it is a rumor like more ata into phl, i am happy
