I am planning the following and need to know if it would work.
Getting to the airport with no reservation, going to customer service of any airline (prob delta for milage purposes) asking "give me a ticket to anywere that it is cheap to leave as soon as posible (pref. europe)".
I guess my questions are :
1. If you do that can you get decent ticket prices?
2. Is it even posible due to security

In Australia, when Ansett I was still around, they had these dirt-cheap 'mystery flights' where people would pay a certain amount of money, and told to pack for any weather condition. They didn't find out their destination until they were airborne, as I heard, and they would remain for less than 24 hours before returning home.

I would imagine it's possible. The ticket agents would probably be really annoyed, since they'd have to help you search for the lowest fare. I imagine they'd be highly suspicous, especially if you had no luggage, even more so if it was a one way, but I don't think it would be illegal.
I don't think it would be cheap, I think it would be expensive as hell. Sounds like something you 'd do if you were wanted for a crime. I wonder if they would alert the authorities.
Why not just get a web fare if you have all this spare time to be running off to airports for flights to anywhere and save yourself the hassle and money.

It could work in DEnver since the check-in tables aren't in the terminals, they're in the main place. You could walk up to the desk (in DEN) and ask for one and then with the ticket proceed through security ad on your flight. I wouldn't reccomend it, they'll think you're a terrorist or something weird is going on.

I did that one time. I had a relative who passed away in Qatar, so i went up to the airport and i asked Emirates airlines for a ticket to DOha international round trip for the same day, and i just paid the normal fair and i was able to hop on that plane
