Starting from April some cargo flights of SU will be operated from DME.There are talks about SU moving all
its operations to DME from SVO because of its unefficiensy and overcongestion.Share your ideas. Thanks
P.S.In 2001 SVO had 11.6 million passengers of which SU carried 5.8 million.DME had 3.9 million in 2001.Both airports have over 100.000 tonnes of cargo carried annually.

So what about SVO t3? Is that project still going on? Even though Domodedovo has recently been renovated, it might simply not be big enough for SU to mave all its operations to DME. By this I'm not saying SVO2 is big, but DME really isn't very big at all, although it looks very good.

The thing is that both airports are building their new terminals.SVO is not as lucky as DME because there are yet many obstacles for building T3 at SVO.Those are:
still debates about which company will do the job-SKANSKA or Aeroport de Paris;the city of Moscow and the Moscow State debate about who will benefit from taxes after T3 will be built;money still needed for the project(so far it was only Aeroflot which invested 10 mil.dollars).Even if SVO will start building its new terminal this year,I think DME's new terminal will be finished before.By the way,by the summer 2003 there will be built 11 new teletraps at the existing terminal at DME.So the best of luck to SVO not to lose its leadership as the major airhub of Eastern Europe and Russia.Regards to all the fans of SU out there!
