I will be in ORD for 5 hours next month, arriving on Lufthansa and departing on United. What fun activities (plane spotting & otherwise) are there to do while waiting?

I have not been to ORD in many years, so I do not know what to expect.

I'd also be interested since I'm thinking of going there sometime this summer for a plane spotting trip.

Thanks in advance!

If you go to the end of Terminal 5? (wherever Delta is at), you can get a good view of the international terminal and the intersection of several taxiways. Actually that could be difficult if you don't have a boarding pass now.

There is a good airplane store in the basement of the Airport Hilton called 'ORD.' They have die cast metal, plastic, and all kinds of other stuff.

Well, if you want to check out downtown cheaply, take the subway downtown...check out Michigan Ave, Navy Pier, or maybe go up the Hancock or Sears Tower.

Might be tight though.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.
