In 2001 Munich had 2,3% more passengers than in 2000. In the time between January and September 11th the increase was 7,6% and after that then came a decline of 9,7% which still results in a positive growth for the full year. In total they had 23,6 Million passengers.
Movements increased by 6% and cargo has declined by 4%.

What is better news than to hear that even in this time there are airports that can report more passengers than the year before.

Any comments?

MAN reported a 4% rise in passenger numbers to 19.4 million; they, too, were averaging 7% increase until September.

Cargo fell by a fair amount (around 7.5%).

There might be a trend for the non-major airports in each country having growth, as the hub airports are those with lots of transatantic flights!

I visited MUC in 97-98 and it was a great facility to visit, very sleek in design and very well designed for pax flow. With T2 opening, which in my opinion looks worse than T1, I hope to see MUC grow. Is MuC's O&D traffic high though, or mainly transit through the LH Hub there, or the new Star Hub as is planned.

Ciao
