Continental Starting Montreal-Houston

Starting June 2 through Oct 26, Continental Airlines will commence daily non-stop service from YUL-IAH using a 737-500. And from Oct 27 daily service excluding Saturdays.

This is great news! It's about time! I'm sure this is because of the fall of YUL-DFW, but I'm sure the route will be re-intrduced to 1 daily.

That's nice. I've heard the 2x2 Air Canada Dly from Houston to Calagary and Toronto are doing well.

Both ADM and Houston Airport System were working hard to get this route. Houston predicted that Continental will start in 5 years. Obviously, but happily, it was 1 year.

A good addition to our route structure. IAH offers great connections to Latin America and Mexico, so im not worreid about this service in the winter. Furthermore, the B737-500 in its 10J/90Y seating is also perfect for starters..

let's hope this route performs..

Wow! This is a very good route for Montreal. AA will probably bring back DFW to compete with CO.

Well, according to Great Circle, the time should be about 3 hours, but with traffic, winds etc, it will be more like 3.5 hours.

Yeah, not so bad...a medium-haul flight, certainly just on the brink of the B737-500's range..

If only AA would resume YUL-DFW. Having two Texas routes would be great! Up until two years ago, we had none!

Yeah, UA is the only major US airlines that does not fly to YUL.

Why? There is no competition, they are Star Alliance!?! I guess AC prefers Montrealers go through YYZ than have a non-stop flight.
