Air Atlanta Icelandic To Fly Montreal Mirabel-Rome

Starting may 02nd, Air Atlanta will operate 2 weekly flights from Montreal (YMX) to Rome (FCO).

The days of operation will be thursday and saturday, with return on friday and sunday.

With the weekly flight operated with Air Transat to Rome (FCO) that will bring a total of 3 charter flights per week.

Air Atlantic will fly all year long

I think they will be working with the new Canada Air Charter because I don't see why an Iceland plane can operate from Canada to Italy.

Does anyone have any details on this.

Tristar, yes, an Iceland plane can operate Canada to Italy. Air Transat flies US-Mexico/Dominican Republic charters.

I'm well aware of Air Transat operating out of secondary cities like Portland and Buffalo.

They had the go from the U.S. government because no American carrier would do so, not the same deal here.

Air Transat doesn't fly JFK to Cancun, yet I'm sure they would fill up the plane, see what I mean.

Tristar500, then how about JAL's JFK-GRU service? Competes with AA's non-stop flight (though JAL's flight is actually also an AA codeshare, bad example). How about AF's MIA-POP service? Competes with AA. IB's MIA-CUN? MIA-SAP? MIA-SJO? MIA-MGA? MIA-PTY? MIA-GUA? All compete with American (even though AA and IB are codeshare partners, they do not codeshare on each other's Latin American flights out of MIA). LanChile MIA-CCS. Competes with American and United. LanChile MIA-CUN competes with AA, so does LA's MIA-BOG and MIA-UIO-GYE. And those examples are just from MIA. Varig, Singapore, and Korean compete with NW and UA on LAX-NRT.
