It seems that SSV/Sunquest has made some changes to their southern destinatios flights from YYZ and YQG. Starting with late December, SSV has been flying 3 weekly flights from Windsor (YQG), to Varadero (Thu), Cancun (Fri), and Puerto Plata (Tue). All flights originated in YYZ around 6:00 am, arrived in one of these destinations, then in YQG by the mid afternoon, and back south and up north to YYZ.
It seems that the Thursday flight to Varadero is now operated as YYZ-YQG-VRA-YQG-YYZ. SSV 510 leaves YYZ at 6:10, proceeds to YQG which it is scheduled to depart at 8:30, arrives VRA at 11:40. SSV511 departs at 12:40, arrives at YQG at 15:45, leaves at 16:35 and is supposed to arrive at YYZ at 18:05.
Now, I've got a couple of questions: Why are the YYZ-YQG (and YQG-YYZ) legs scheduled to be 1.5 hrs long??? The same flight takes only 1:05 on a Dash 8! Also, why exactly did Sunquest/SSV change their schedule? Did they not have enough pax to fill both the YQG-VRA and YYZ-VRA flights so they merged them together? Does SSV sell seats on the YYZ-YQG/YQG-YYZ flights?
And in addition, I was looking through the scheduled departures/arrivals on the SSV website, and it appears that SSV900 will be leaving YYZ tomorrow at 13:15 and arriving at YQG at 14:30. Does anyone know what the purpose of this flight is? There are two SSV A320 arrivals scheduled at YQG tomorrow at 14:30 (SSV900) and 14:45 (the regular flight from CUN), but only one departure appears to be scheduled (15:45 to CUN). So, where is SSV900 going to go? Is it going to be a regular?
BTW, if you were wondering, SSV900 really doesn't seem to be one of those double flights that appear regularly on SSV's website.

Yes, as a crewmember I can help you with flight 900. It is a ferry flight. Ferry flights do not carry passengers, they are flights used to positon an aircraft and or a crew.
As for the schedules, YQG/YYZ may be slotted for 1.5 however, it does not mean that it takes 1.5. That is the slotted or allowed time. That is all it means. I have done those flights in 30 mins.
As for your other questions, you may wish to contact your tour operator or travel agent and inquire about the schedules, but bear in mind that there is not official base in YQG therefore, the aircraft although it may depart YQG and arrive there, it may be scheduled to operate out of YYZ the following day.

The Skyservice flight arrival and departure system runs directly from their Ops Center in YYZ. Many times flights show on the arrival/departure pages that may have existed but no longer do, or will operate in the future. I checked the weekly schedule that is sent out to all stations and there is no flight scheduled to stop in YQG tomorrow.
The arrival and departures on the website are 50/50 in being accurate. For my station (YQT) the website will very frequently show flights that are passing by YQT but not scheduled to stop here. I guess the simple answer is it is a technical glitch with the arrivals and departures system.
As for why the aircraft rotates YYZ-YQG-??? loads were low and it is cost effective to 'Piggy-Back' flights instead of cancel them out right. In your case YQG is on the flight path to VRA from YYZ, so might as well fill up the rest of the seats before they fly 4 hours south.
Hope that helps!

Flightarrivals.com shows SSV900 as being in flight at the moment (1700 EST) from YYZ to YQG, the a/c is a "JS32". A Jetstream??? Should land at 1718. Does SSV operate any Jetsreams as part of their biz jet division? BTW, it seems that the a/c originated in YYB (North Bay, Ontario).

It would appear SSV900 is a crew positioning flight. Yes SSV does operated J31's and that is what they are primarily used for in Canada and abroad.
It is probably coming from North Bay due to the diversions they have had arrive their. SSV had 3 A320's their earlier today due to the weather in YYZ. They diverted there enroute from the sunny south to YYZ. The crew is probably scheduled to pick up a departure from YQG and what better way to get them there than the Jetscream!!!!! Yes I wrote Jetscream....

Well, I'm pretty sure the Jetstream was bringing crew members for the A320 here in YQG, since the JS was delayed for 2.5 hours, and so was the A320. I figured they just replace the crew, since YQG right in the middle of that a/c's day, with the crew having done at least 8 hours of work. I'm assuming this is a unique occurence that will not be repeated?

A SSV J-31 was in YHM today. Their A320 flight to Cuba was delayed due to poor WX at YHM (freezing rain). The crew that ferried it in from YYZ was replaced by a fresh crew. Normal departure would have been 06:00. Didn't depart until just before 11:00. D'OH!
P.S. YHM was actually closed for several hours and reopened at 06:00.

The problem as Dripstick alludes to yesterday was that the aircraft was in YYZ having been unable due to weather to fly into YHM the night before. This meant getting airborne in YYZ no earlier than 6:30 am(curfew) to position to YHM. Weather, de-ice and mechanical delays didn't allow the aircraft to arrive in YHM until 10 am. A long day for all involved.
