Enron execs fly luxury jet to bankruptcy
hearings in NY and DC.... um...

What are they going to say to the
attendants on the jets? "Sorry, we can't
tip you, the company's bankrupt...
would you pass me the caviar and
top off my champange, please?"

What is wrong with these people?
I personally know at least 10 honest,
hard-working people who have now
lost big chunks of their pension funds.
(randing from a quarter million to
about 1.5mil...)

From ABC:
"Jan. 31 — Enron executives and lawyers appear to be going bankrupt in style, traveling to bankruptcy court hearings in New York in the company's two remaining private jets......
An Enron spokesperson has confirmed a total of eight corporate jet trips to New York and Washington since the bankruptcy, saying the flights were more efficient than commercial travel.
A round-trip commercial flight, Houston to New York, could be as little as $365 in coach. According to aviation executives, the same trip on an Enron jet would cost tens of thousands of dollars.

The Enron executives seen leaving the airport Wednesday used the corporate jet to attend the funeral of J. Clifford Baxter, a former Enron executive who committed suicide on Jan. 25. Enron says that is the only nonbusiness trip since the bankruptcy....."

If you fill GV's it is cheaper then first class. You can tell they are not doing very well, by letting all the execs on the same plane.

Okay, if I were them I would rather take my own airplane too. The people in coach would kick my ass if my multi billion doller a year business went under.

A Houston TV station reported late last week that Enron's corporate aviation arm was severely downsized at the end of January.

Besides, what's so atypical about a large corporation having a few private jets? Its done the world over.

If there was a forum for Worthless news, this thread would belong there. Sleepy

You want them to hitchhike instead?
Could also be that they wanted to avoid media attention that might occur with commercial.
That's changed some with new security rules but still more likely.

Funny how what goes around comes around. When Clinton was in office all White House docs relating to Monica were crucial to saving the "Presidency". Back then only one person was getting screwed (Monica). Now with these scum-sucking Enron execs are screwing hundreds of thousands of people simultaneously and suddenly relevant docs are irrelevant? Someone explain that to me. As much as I love this country you must admit it has the most sophisticated corruption scheme on Earth (soft money). And to think we put other countries down for gov't corruption. What a joke.

I don't care what anyone says about corporate jet travel, it's a luxury nothing more and nothing less. Just when all these Enron execs walked away with millions leaving their workers eating shite off the sidewalk they have the balls to fly G-Vs to DC. Someone please put these assholes in jail soon.

Found this while looking for info on Enron's past and present fleet:

Here's the one and only photo I could find of one of Enron's current a/c:
