The following results are based on Department of Transportation figures published in the Consumer Report.

The survey:

Weights different areas of performance as measured by the DOT.

Ontime Performance: 45%
Luggage Performance: 35%
Complaints: 10%
Involuntary Denied Boardings: 10%

Weighted Ranking Results
(Best Case #1 rank in all categories would result in the airline scoring a 1. The closer to 1 the score, the better.)

1. USAirways- 3.45
2. Northwest- 4.1
3. Southwest- 4.25
4. Continental - 4.75
5. Delta- 4.85
6. Alaska- 6.3
7. TWA- 6.4
8. American- 6.6
9. America West- 6.75
10. United- 9.35
11. American Eagle- 9.65

If anyone has any suggestions as to the weighting feel free to make them and post the recalculation here.
