Why don't all airlines have their first configured like that? I flew first on american in the center of a 2-1-2 config and it was terrible. I felt so exposed, especially if trying to sleep and people are going up and down both isles. In a 1-2-2 or 2-2-1 only one seat doesnt have an isle, and the middle seat doesn't have 2!

When CO had 763s on order (early 90's, later canceled)I saw a seat map with 1-2-2 seating. I for one have no problem with CO's current 2-1-2 seating. But then, I have yet to travel in that middle seat. I could very well have a change of view after doing so.

I have flown on the Continental 764 with the 2-1-2 seating, I have twice been in the middle seat, and 3 or 4 times in the side seating. I thought that I would feel exposed as the above poster had mentioned, but in truth it was no different than being in the other seats. I think it would be more of an issue in coach, but seeing as it is so quiet in Business first, it wasn't a problem, in fact I think I prefer it. You feel a little like Picard on the Enterprise....
