I just read in a lebanese newspaper that MEA is considering getting some Swissair aircraft to modernize its fleet. I bet they're looking to replace their A310s with A330s. Are there any Swissair A330s for sale or lease?

I can assure you all that they will not be cheap. The planes will after the breakup in march most likely go to the banks that swissair owes so much money to. They will sell them for as much as possible inorder to try to gain back some of the money the lost.

It's not easy to find second hand A330s. So even if they're not very cheap it will be a good deal. After all these are state-of -the-art aircraft.
Do they have PTVs?
Hopefully my MEA flight this summer ends up being an A330.

There was talk a while ago about MEA getting A330s in the future.
However by future, they probably meant DISTANT future as MEA is not in a position to buy or lease any new aircraft at this time.
However this will be a great chance for them.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if MEA acquires all 3 of those A330s.

There has been unconfirmed talk that some of the banks would seek prices that were equal or very near the normal new price.
Yes the SR A332's do have PTV's in each class aswell as the "thin swiss seat" giving you more legroom.

They would probably use them on the two daily paris flight, the daily london one and some arabic routes like dubai. I think they would keep the a300-600r on african routes. I think three is the exact number they need to replace 3 a310
you can have more info about the routes on www.mea.com.lb
