I see that there are major caterers such as gate gourmet and LSG, but do any airline get their food from restaurants? Is it even possible? I think that it would be great to get Peruvian food on the LAX-Lima ( LIM) route, what do people think?

I'm not sure there is any airline that gets its food directly from restaurants. However, most major airlines have chefs from selected restaurants "design" their menus for them.

On second thought, actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Concorde gets some of its food from restaurants...like desserts etc that are made at the restaurant and then shipped to the flight.
