SEATTLE, Feb.14, 2002 - The Boeing Company today celebrated a major milestone with the delivery of the 1,000th 757. The airplane, a 757-200, was adorned in the livery of American Airlines.

Excellent news.....A few years ago I'd have laughed if you told me they'd sell over 1,000 of them, given the slow sales start.

I hope they get to 1500, or even 2,000....Best airliner flying. Don't write off the -300 yet either - We could see a lot of these longbodies built.

Further .... SC's Airliner list claim N179AA is no. 1000 - Bird.ch says it's N178AA ....

Does anyone know if it has any special markings, cuz I know that the 1000th 747, owned by SIA has a big sticker saying "1000th 747"???

Also, does anyone know who owns the 1000th 737, and what type it is??

According to Bill Harm's web site, the 1000th 737 is a 737-232 belonging to Delta Airlines.

I'll confirm that is the tail number.

5FP is the "nose number"

The A/C is at Tulsa for acceptance check.
