UA 950 LAX-IAD-BRU Instead Of ORD-IAD-BRU?

www.brusselsairport.be announces the following schedule for 16/02:

16/02 07:25 Los Angeles UA 950
16/02 07:25 Washington UA 950

Even though the general schedule is:

Is this flight from LAX a "one_day_fly" (een ééndagsvlieg) or a permanent change in the flight routing of UA 950?

Also on the arrival page I noticed the flight:
16/02 06:25 Pointe A Pit PE 3109
What carrier is PE and which aircraft do they use?
Wish it were PeoplExpress with their fancy 747! In the eighties they briefly operated EWR-BRU and SFO-BRU also under the code PE.

Don't know who PE is, but the flight (which was cancelled BTW) was supposed to have been with a 767-300.

PE = Air Europe Italy

They use the B763 a few days a week for flights to Pointe à Pit.

But I read in Airliner World that PE is going to bring back it's B763's and B772's to the leasing companys, and is going to receive 4 A330's.

For that UA-flight: it can be 07.20h or 07.25h. 5 minuts is not a big difference. A/c is a B763 (maybe upgraded within a few months to B772).
This is a double flight: Chicago ORD via Washington (1 a/c that departs in Chicago, flies to Washington, and departs there to Brussels).

By the way: if you want to know by which a/c the flight is operated on http://www.brusselsairport.be, you have to press the orange button with that white a/c on that you see on your right of each flight.

For a long time UA 950 would originate in Chicago. During the last week we had some(?) flights from Los Angeles and tomorrow there will be a flight from San Diego!!!?

Will we get a flight from Honolulu on Thursday, from Denver on Friday, from Las Vegas on Saturday,...?

Does somebody understand the current "dynamics" at UA's daily flight to Brussels?

This flight also operated today from San Diego to Brussels (again with B763, not B772  Sad ).

I hope they will base a second a/c for the Brussels - USA routes (and not always operate those double flights), and upgrade the B763 to B772.

We must wait and see...

Image a flight from Brussels to Honolulu. Man, I would go and buy my ticket today, especially if United would fly this route with a Boeing 777! Waikiki Beach here I come!

The "direct" flight between San Diego and Brussels only has to do with the flight number. There is a change of planes in Washington, from a 757 to a 767. However, it is nearly impossible to miss this connection in IAD, as the 767 must hold for the 757 to arrive from SAN and transfer its BRU-bound passengers to the nonstop flight.

Inbound in the USA you have to deboard & get your luggage to go to customs

and then go to the domestic terminal for the continuation of the flight

There is really no benefit of having one flight number against 2 different once. I have also experienced occassions where the 2nd plane didnt wait before continuing and the 2nd leg of the flight got a Alpha added to the flightnumber coz flights can't have the same number in the air

Where does the SFO flight stop - that can't be a nonstop flight otherwise according to the schedule posted, the BRU - SFO flying time would be 18 hours!!

Arsenal@LHR - That's exactly what I was referring to. Sabena 69D posted a schedule for BRU - SFO and vv that showed an approx 18 hr flight time from BRU - SFO that as you and I indicated is too long for a nonstop flight between the two cities.

Do not forget that the departure time that you can see on this schedule is BELGIAN time (GMT+1). Departure time is Belgian time, and arrival time is the time in San Francisco.

A couple of years ago there was also a UA 930/931 that flew to BRU. It departed in SFO (B772) and made a stopover in LHR. They changed equipments, a 763 came to Brussels to pick-up passengers and flew back to LHR.
On the website of UA, they give the same information. They only wont give the equipmentinformation.

the flight IAD BRU is no stop , daily now from 10 years

In summertable UA flight also between BRU and WEST US coast with a stop at LHR.
a 767 or a 777 in 98 or 99 (I didn't remember) coming from US , flight just like a sutthle flight between BRU and LHR early in the morning to bring pax into LHR hub and then connection to US.
UA use the same nulmber flight on 2 segments BRU LHR SFO
