I was curious what your favorite airline commercials are/were.
Mine is the BA commercial in space and they are talking about cricket and other stuff while sitting at a nice table. It then said "The British simply know how to travel" Than "British Airways, the world's favourite airline." That commercial aired in the states for a long time.
I also like AA's recent old ones titled "The Great American Get-together." I am not sure if they are still on the air as I haven't seen them in a couple of weeks.
I love AA's two newest commercials which have been discussed on the forums. I have seen them on nbc aswell as the web.
Another good I saw only once was a United commercial that aired during all of the pilot strikes and the hellish summer of 2000 for them. It had a bunch of photos of their planes and crews from the origins to modern day, and it basically said "We won't give up" and that sort of message.
Give me a break, I created this username when I was a kid...

My favorite was a Fed Ex one. It started out with a Fed Ex pilot sitting on an elephant and taxiing out to the runway for takeoff. Finally, the elephant begins its takeoff roll accompanied by the sound of jet engines, and once aiborne, it makes a climbing right turn. Very original.

Although I hated the "Rising" campaign, two of United's commercials from that period (1998?) were terrific.
One was of a little kid daydreaming in a country coffee house, pretending to toss a paper airplane that was actually the reflection in the window of a passing United jet. The message: getting back to basics (yeah right).
The other was of a circus clown tossing rings into the air. And it just happened that a passing United jet in the distance appeared to be flying through the rings. The message was no more jumping through the hoops (yeah right).

I think American's most recent two commercials now tops my list. They are pretty-much perfect in my opinion.
Some other favorites are:
United's commercial that aired during the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona. The commercial touts United's superior comfort on their 747 aircraft by having a group of orca whales swimming through the aircraft.
Delta's commercials with the Enya music in the background. The commercial featured a fleet of Delta 767's flying in formation, synchronized with a school of dolphins; it was actually pretty cool.
Another commercial I'll always remember was America West's R-E-S-P-E-C-T commercial. The airline basically took the famous Aretha Franklin song and had employees singing around the ramp, the terminal, and on baggage carts singing a version more suitable for airlines, while keeping the famous R-E-S-P-E-C-T refrain. It was very Southwest-like, but for some reason, it stuck in my mind.

I gotta say, this Delta Commercial was one of the greatest :
Back to reality, I really loved the new AA commercials, they are great! It makes me want to fly on AA, but AA doesn't serve an airport even close to where I live (they don't serve North Dakota or Montana) ..
