Saudi Arabian Airlines, as well as four aircraft of the UAE (from Emirates perhaps), and Britian's Royal Air Force are also flying the Afghan pilgrims to Jeddah besides PIA, for Hajj which takes place tomorrow (Wednesday), RAF are using C-130s four times a day to carry the pilgrims since Monday, any one know what euipment are SV and the United Arab Emirates are sending? meanwhile PIA operated their second A300 flight to Kabul yesterday carrying 270 pilgrims to Jeddah from there.

According to my sources.. SV should be sending 741's. Just a few days ago there has been talks about sending the 743's but I do doubt that. 743's are usually sent to Jakarta and Bruni.

Airmale,
As far as i know Emirates Airline aircraft were not involved. Rather aircraft chartered by the UAE govt.

Asalam-o-Alaikum,

Airmale, before the political problems arose in Afghanistan, during the era of King Zaheer Shah, Ariana had actually placed an order for 747. This shows that Kabul airport and maybe Kandahar airport are definitely able to support jumbo jets.

Allah Hafiz.
