Does anyone knou out there how many more MD90/80/11s are on the production
line? There are at least 194 of 200 MD-11s delivered, but the production line is supposed to end this month or February. I suspect all the MD-80s are delivered but,
I am not sure (others records confuse me) if there are few or many MD-90s left to be
built and delivered. Does anyone have figures?

The last MD-80 was and MD-83 delivered the last week of December 1999, to Trans World Airlines. The aircraft is registered N984TW and has been christened "The Spirit of Long Beach".

I'm not sure about the MD-90 and MD-11.

There have to be about 6 MD-11 aircraft to be delivered to Lufthansa Cargo which would make total production of the MD-11 exactly 200. But maybe there will also come another EVA Air machine (cn 48793). I think the MD-11 will close the line of true Douglases, with the last delivered late 2000.
The MD-90 is another story. cn 53517-53519 are reserved aircraft #27-29 for Saudi Arabian, but seen their complains about the lack of ability of using short unpaved Saudi runways and the troubles with deliveries of the earlier 26 aircraft, these MIGHT have been cancelled. The only other order is with Shenzhen Airlines of China. These must be Chinese produced MD-90s. But Shenzhen reportly also lost interest and China will probably also cease building after only two machines. So IF there come more MD-90s, it will only be a handfull.

Douglas and Mcdonnel Douglas are not the same company. Douglas Corporation produced the DC8,DC9,and the DC10. The MD series was produced by The Mcdonnel Dougals Incoperated.

You're right, dear Jetpilot.
I just consider the MD-11 a sort of offbreed of the DC-10, because the fuselage-numbers kept counting... The DC-10s were line 1-446, the MD-11s 447 till 64?. Just like I consider the MD-80/90 an offbreed of the DC-9; the last TWA-machine is # 2276 or so, with #1 being the first DC-9-10 in 1965. While the Boeing 717 starts a new count from 5001 onwards. So that's why I consider the MD-11 and MD-80/90 "true" Douglases and the C-17 and the Boeing 717 not!!!
