Hi

I've just booked my next trip to Karachi. My first choice was PIA, but for some unknown reason there seats are showing up as blocked, well thats what the agent said anyway.

I had no other choice, so opted for EK. My query was regarding the Manchester - Dubai leg. Would there be any chance of me flying the 777-300 on this route. My dep is on the 9th June.

With EK operating a mix of aircraft to MAN, I just thought 777-300 might be operating on this particular day.

Can anyone please answer this. Thanks.

P.S On my return journey, I have 24hours to see Dubai, until my next flight back to MAN  Big thumbs up

LGW,
We have had an EK 777-300 into Manchester for the past two thursday flights to Dubai! It was the first 777-300 into MAN and more 777-300 flights are scheduled for the route apparently.

More than likely thought it will be an A330 on the flight, maybe a 777-200 and if your really lucky a 777-300. Loads on the MAN-DXB flight are very good, David_itl will give you all the figures and will know more about Emirates plans for the Manchester flights  Laugh out loud

Manchester is getting their share of B777 aircraft at the moment to meet demand, and this is set to continue throughout the summer until a B777 can be used permanently, or the A330 frequency can be increased.

This is the Emirates UK operating programme for February, from Yahoo! Grops;

Manchester.
Normal A330-200 'High Density' on the 1st to the 6th, 8th, 10th and the 16th to the 28th.
B777-200 'High Density' aircraft operate on 12th and 15th.
B777-200 'Low Density' aircraft operate on the 9th, 11th and 13th.
B777-300 'High Density' aircraft operate on the 7th and 14th

Birmingham.
Normal A330-200 'High Density' operation on the 1st to the 12th and 24th to the 28th.
A330-200 'Low Density' aircraft operate on the 13th to the 23rd.

London-Gatwick.
Normal A330-200 'Low Density' aircraft every day except for the 3rd which is due to operate on an A330-200 'High Density'.

London-Heathrow.
EK001/002 Lunchtime. Normal B777-300 'Low Density' aircraft all month.
EK003/004 Early Evening. Normal B777-200 'Low Density' aircraft all month except for the 7th which is due to operate on a B777-200 'High Density'.
EK005/006 Late Evening. Normal A330-200 'Low Density' aircraft all month.

I can confirm that 434 passengers were on board the 1st 777-300 flight i.e. it was 100% full, and the 2nd one had 398 passengers.

We're talking 90%+ loads for MAN: not bad at all!

If you are flying to KHI then you can sample the 773 on this route. In fact if you provide your flight nos and day of op i can tell you what type you will be operating 772/ or 773. Given the strength in demand out of MAN you are likely to see them substitute 772s on the route. As more 773s get delivered (EMQ enters service in May, and this is a HD acft, EMR enters service in June but this is a LD and EMS enters service in August and this is an LD also) you may see them in MAN as demand dictates.

The specific acft type you will fly on (noting there are often a lot of last minute changes esp on the KHI route) will only be known around a month before your flight.

The 773 is a great plane. The take-off roll is long. I flew the first revenue service on A6-EMN from DXB-JED in Dec 99). We were fully loaded with 442 on board (434 pax plus babies in bassinets!).

Yep, the 777-300 is a great aircraft to fly on - its huge! I have flown the A330 from Manchester to Dubai, the 777-300 from Dubai to Bangkok and the 777-200 from Singapore to Dubai, all on Emirates.

Have a great flight. I flew Emirates last month, and they were excellent. The seat pitch might be a bit cramped, but the service, food, entertainment more than makes up for it. Fly Emirates!  Smile

GF-A330,

EK018 on 9 Jun will be op by an A330-200 HD
EK580 on 10 Jun will be op by a B777-200 HD

EK601 on 19 Aug will be op by a B777-300 HD
EK017 on 20 Aug will be op by an A330-200 HD

Just one word of caution, the EK601 might be switched to a B777-200 HD. Currently the 601 on Mondays is op. by a 772 HD but once A6-EMQ arrives (in May 2002) there should be enough acft available to permit the KHI flight to upgraded to the 773.

Best to check again a month before you travel.
