What is going to happen to the Dash8 and F28, when does QX expect to retire them...Dash8's are staying around for a while, right?

The Dash 8-100s are all but gone (I think two are left) and we won't see them around much longer. The -200s, though, will be around for a very, very long time to come. They're still great aircraft and I just flew one on Saturday.

As for the F28s, they were supposed to be gone by April, but Horizon has extended that til early 2003 or later.

All the DHC-8/100's are gone. The last one was pulled from service just last week. Six F-28's will be around til 2003 as N400QX has mentioned.

The DHC-8/200's will be around for many more years. I think going by the 10 year lease factor the first woukld end in 2007...extensions?? Who knows.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if the Q400's went away before their smaller counterparts. Nor would I be dissappointed....memories of the Dornier 328 come to mind.

Cheers!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Hey--

So are you guys still having big problems with the Q400s? That's too bad-- I think they're really attractive and quiet.

Which is kind of the opposite of the Do328, quite an ugly thing, in my opinion (sorry 328 fans...).

The F-28 has bailed out the Q400 more than we would like! Another reason for keeping them around a bit longer.

I love the Q400 as a passenger. It's quiet, smooth, fast and with only configured to 70 very very roomy. (35" Seat Pitch I think it is).

But from the MTX side it's a reliabilty nightmare...
