Does anyone know when NWA will be recieving the 757-300 and when they will begin service for sure??? I heard something like March, but I also have heard July. Also, what will be some of the first routes for the 753??

Matt~

The first one just entered a 3 month testing period with Boeing for FAA certification. NW's 753's are the first to have Pratt engines. All others to date have had RR's, thus the testing program. NW will receive its first 753 in July. First routes will be domestic former DC-10-40 routes. Such city pairs as:
DTW-MSP/MEM/SEA/LAX/LAS/PHX
MSP-DTW/MEM/SEA/LAX/LAS/PHX/MKE

PSU.DTW.SCE:

Maybe Northwest would put the new 753 in the roputes to Orlando, Florida? As far as I know, Northwest operates the DC-10 to Orlando from Detroit and Honolulu.

Best regards,
RJ_Delta.

The NW DC10 that operated MCO-DTW-LAX-HNL has
been replaced as a B757 from MCO. The only
DC10 operating from MCO is one daily flight to MSP
but only until April. Then it will revert to a 757 with
no more DC10s from MCO.

I believe that NW may keep a small number of D10's for their SEA/SFO/LAX to Hawaii service. But I have my doubts that may last depending on how well NW likes the new A330-300's--I wouldn't be surprised at all by 2010 that the D10 fleet is completely replaced by A333's on even flights to Hawaii.

The DC-10 fleet is supposed to be completely replaced by 2006

Actually, when the 330 order was announced last year NW had planned on keeping a dozen or so DC10-30s for high density domestic and Hawaii flying. Unless things have changed since 9/11 we'll see the newest (I presume) DC10-30s in the fleet for some time.

Do you think NWA will use the 753 for there MSp-ANC non-stop flight? They have 3 flights a day to ANC, and they are packed!

Garudarod, terrible news about the DC-10 and MCO, I didn't know her days were numbered here yet. I think we're down to 1 flight now anyways...

Alaskaairlines- Isnt it like two 757s and a DC-10 a day from MSP? and the seasonal 757 to DTW as well from ANC? As well as their seasonal 757 FAI-MSP.

On the a/c delivery pages at work it shows 40 N-numbers reserved for the 330 program..although that may mean nothing it may also be a sign of more 330's..

Hey Dazed767,

Yeah,Im sorry to see that bird leave as well. Its great to put cargo on. On the plus side, I would think MCO
will get the B757-300 early on. I would love to see
that baby come south to MIA or FLL as well.

I picked up a utilization sched. for the -300's for Aug 1- Dec.
The first 6 757-300's will fly where DC-10-40's used to be: SEA,LAX,MCO MCO,MKE,LAS and PHX @ around 9.7 hours/a/c These are from MSP and DTW.
Over nights will be SEA,MSP,MKE, and MCO.
