(most of this background information was taken from a Science magazine from Argentina called "Conocer y Saber" from 1991, the rest from various other sources.)

I know I will probably get no replies, since this is a very obscure event, but anyways I'll give it a try, just in case someone does knows something about this. I'm planning on using this subject for a report I need to compile in college. If you are not familiar with this topic, even though you can't help me on it, here is a background of what I'm talking about, just so you know anyways.

Cerro Uritorco (Uritorco Mountain) is the UFO capital of Argentina, maybe Latin America. Ever since the 1950's, reports of UFO's hovering over the mountain have attracted millions of enthusiaists & just curious people to Capilla del Monte, the closest town to the mountain. It was in 1958, when a little girl, 8 years old, gave her mother late one summer night her famous UFO sketches, were it is claimed she had diagramed plans of engines, & other flying contraptions that today's best scientists could have never come up with. The girl & her mother were then taken away by the Argentine military, they were never seen again. Their house was deemed off limits, but neighbors claimed that a very strong sulfur smell emanated from the house, which was later demolished.
Pictures of this house are available online, I will attempt to find them. A similar incident is reported to have happened in Loreto, Santiago del Estero, to another kid, I have this story in the magazine from which all of this info I have taken.
The area has now been known to have had a secret military base, were the Argentine airforce was attempting to build some sort of missile, the project was cancelled with pressure from the United States, in return Argentina, according to some, gained information on the U.S's own AREA 51. Some claim both governments are hiding from their peoples the truth about these misterious places. I went to Capilla del Monte when I was 8 in 1988, just a year before the famous "Capilla del Monte" landing. That was when many people claimed to have seen a UFO land in a grassy meadow, leaving a burned circle of grass, which was still giving off heat weeks after the allegded flying saucer had left the area. The site of the alledged UFO landing was recorded by TV cameras, showing the burned vegetation in large concentric circle. Photos of lights & even unintelligible words written in the sky have been photographed, I have the pictures myself in the magazine. To this day, reports of UFO's are common place, & the town has taken advantage of this of course & used it as a tourist attraction. If you want to learn more about Capilla del monte itself, & you know Spanish, you can go to this site:
To learn more of the UFO's (OVNI in Spanish), go here:
(this is the page with the little picture of the "gray" alien, & also gives you many other links related to this subject)

Anyways, now that you know the background if you were not familiar with it, I can tell you that from the 1950's onwords, civilian aircraft were not permitted to fly over this general area. This is why the Carlos Paz & Cordoba Sierras region, a MAJOR tourist area, has no airports of its own. But after the military base was shutdown, & CONAE (the Argentine version of NASA) replaced the base, were they now build the Argentine sattelites, airplanes were permitted to fly over the area.
However, in 1994, I believe, there was a crash of an Air force military plane, perhaps Pampa aircraft used for training, in this area. Another in 1995. Then in 1997, when a rare commercial flight flew over this region, suddently one of the doors of the aircraft blew open, and a FLIGHT ATTENDANT was sucked out, & of course, she died. People said this tragedy happened after the pilot explained to the passengers they had flown over Cerro Uritorco. Of course, theories abound about the reasons for these incidents in this general area.

What I need to know is all information about this flight, the airline, websites, newspaper clips, what you know off the top of your head. What is the truth behind these events? Coincidence? Or is there really something fishy with the Cerro Uritorco? What are possible scientific reasons behind them? Perhaps not surprinsingly I can't find anything online about this event. The government said it would investigate, they never did. They said only that they would perhaps move CONAE from the Cerro Uritorco area, to some remote place in the province of La Pampa. Do you know anything else about this misterious occurence of the death of the FA? I want to know everything there is to know about the incident. Like I said, I'm planning on using this subject for a report I need to compile in college. Personally, I have a hard time believing in UFO's, but I keep my mind open to anything. Thanks for your time reading this.

The airplane that had the incident over Cordoba, I believe it was an Aerolineas Argentinas flight. I don't remember if they gave any official reason for the accident, but I do remember seeing the Flight Attendant's funeral on a TV report. The missile that was being designed in that area I believe was intended to carry a nuke, remember Argentina was developing a bomb, because Brazil was doing it. Then both countries signed an agreement banning this, although I have a suspition both countries already know how to build nukes.
The missile became useless with this, & they tried to sell it, of all countries...Iraq!! The U.S said no way, so in exchange for the dismantling of the missile, the U.S agreed to share some military info with Argentina, that is were this whole conspiracy theory comes from.

I have heard some of these stories. Capilla del Monte has become quite a meeting place for UFO investigators.
Here is another "bizarre" story. One night, a train operator in Ingeniero White, Buenos Aires, was retiring the trains for the night, when he saw a bright light appear right in front of the rail tracks. He lost conciousness, woke up again, according to his story, in Velez Sarfield, in Capital Federal, almost 700km from Ing. White! Now he claims he has telepathic connections with beings from outer space. Believe it??
