Hi all

Well, I am off on my travels again soon, Aberdeen - Amsterdam - Zurich.

I got such an unbelievable fare for this trip (would put easyJet to shame) so I could not ignore it!!

I would like to hear from anyone that has flown Amsterdam - Zurich on KLM.

Regards

I flew this flight a year ago. I believe its operated by a 737 one flight is operated by an md11. The flight is very short and they serve only drinks. It's just a normal shorthaul flight. The flight is so short that they say ''we have started our decent into zurich.....'' right after take off.

Avion

BTW: what are you going to do in zurich. I lived there for three years.

Hi Avion

Thanks for the info.

I believe the flight will be operated by a B737. I wish it was an MD11

I will be there for a week and planning to meet up with someone at the airport and also visit a friend in Luzern.

I just hope I get good weather

Thanks again for the info.

I heard the md11 operates only 4 times a week   and then continues to somwhere in africa.
I hope you enjoy lucerne. Dont miss the chapel bridge. If you walk over it you can see 200 year old paintings on the ceiling.

Hi,
i flew this route once but this was back in 1995. It was a 733 and as others have said it is a very normal intraeuropean flight. Nothing fancy. However i had a good connex at Kloten with CX (A340) to Kaitak.

have fun in ZRH

I know somwhere you must go in Lucerne

I don't know if you know of this place, but it's the Swiss transport museum, or Verkershaus. I have relatives in Switzerland and they took me there in 1996. There is various stuff there but the highlight is the preserved Swissair Convair 990A Coronado HB-ICC.
It's immaculately preserved in full Swissair colours and with it's original interior which you can walk through, though you can't sit in the seats.

If you've got the time and are in the area it may be worth a look at this unusual aircraft. I found it really interesting although I don't recall anything else of major interest and have no idea how much it cost because I didn't pay!

It's really near the side of Lake Lucerne as I recall and we took a short boat ride from the town centre near the bridge.

Hope this is of interest to you.

James

Have a good flight, but for me a trip to Switzerland isn't complete without Swissair but I have the advantage of a 3x Daily Swissair flight 40 minutes from my doorstep!
