AA's new MIA-STI service has been put in the scheds. The flights start 15Jun02, daily 737-800 service. AA 749/738. This will be Santiago de Dominican Republic's only non-stop service to the mainland United States. AA will also be adding to the Miami route map Medellin, Valencia, and Punta Cana.

I think a JFK-STI nonstop would have been better. New York has the biggest Dominican Population living outside of the Dominican Repubhlic and this flight mainlly caters to the Dominicans it won't be a flight for tourists. Punta Cana that's a totally diferent situation thats mainly for tourists so flying a MIA-Punta Cana flight makes more sense that a New York- Punta Cana flight.

Well, Miami's Dominican population is #2 and not far behind. Plus, Miami's Dominican population is much wealthier than NYC's. Most Dominicans in Miami are high middle-class/upper class.

Nevermind that, they are launching JFK-STI on the same day.

So they are indeed also adding a nonstop JFK-STI flight.
Has AA never thought of adding an MCO-SDQ flight, the Orlando Dominican population is on the rise and right now the have to fly or via SJU or MIA .
