I personally think that Vanguard is growing very Rapidly. It seems like everytime I turn around they have a new destination. I just saw where they are returning to Myrtle Beach and are begining service to MCO (info from their website). And the addition of the MD-80 into the fleet has helped them tremendously I think. I know its no where near delta or anything but in my opinion in the past year Vanguard has come a long way.

Now if Vanguard can just start making money. They don't hemmhorage money or anything, just get the load factor up a little more. And their load factors are already *much* better--to the tune of 15 percent or so better--since they recentered their system on MCI in 2001. Maybe this summer, if US air travel continues to recover, Vanguard will break into the black. Their business plan is now a good one. If it weren't for 9/11 they probably would already be in the black.
My confidence in Vanguard keeps rising. If they stick to running profitable O & D-oriented nonstops from MCI to large markets, I think they'll continue to get stronger.

I certainly hope the best for NJ. Would it be too crazy for them to get a small regional carrier going? They could re-serve markets they had to drop like MSP (or in my wildest dreams DSM). Maybe they could get some feed off markets in the area that aren't served by low fare carriers.

What new destinations are you all talking about? They have already been to BUF/MCO and others as has been mentioned as their "new" cities. DSM as a new city... NOT!!! They have already been there too for a couple of years!!! They were even in RSW if anybody remembers. I haven't seen any new destinations from them in a long time. If anybody can correct me please go ahead.
