Esp. since the Sep. 11 events ..... what U.S. airport (not an airline) gets you airborne the fastest?

What airport is the slowest today at pushing the tin skyward?

Here at SAT, I've rarely had a flight where we've had to wait... Taxi and hold times always seem very short.

Compare that to DFW or DEN where you seem to taxi FOREVER.

PDX also has pretty short taxi times, but things can back up there sometimes.

MSY is really quick, too. Often you pushback from the gate, do a 180 turn, and you are holding short of the runway.

At BWI, once you make it onto your plane, taxi time is fairly short, and there isn't a lineup at the runway. Actually getting to the airplane, though, is another story entirely....

Salt Lake is very quick, about 5 minute taxi times, that is unless you're departing during the 4-5PM bank...

As for getting to the plane, last winter (before 9/11) I arrived at MCO 40 minutes before my flight and was at the gate to check in 25 minutes before departure, and everythign was fine even thought the 767 to CVG was overbooked.

Manchester, New Hampshire treated the UAL 757 I was on like royalty and getting us off the ground very very quickly! PHX can be pretty quick depending on your Airline of choice and which runways are in use.

Certianly NOT ATL during the day, but if your flight takes off before 6:00am you usually get out of there quite fast.
