Thanks for this Information! I expect that ATL is the world's busiest airport, like in the year 2000 and I expect also that ORD is on 2nd place in the number of passengers.

What I was interestet are the numbers, especially from JFK, EWR, IAD and BOS. I think for the year 2001 there are considerable loses in comparison to the year 2000, similar like London-Heathrow. It would be nice, if any of your guys can tell me about this.

Greetings from Munich/Germany

Uh, no. ORD only surpassed ATL in movements. ORD had an increase in the number of commuter and regional jets useing it. ATL still had more mainline movement than ORD. Being the busiest in passengers is more desirable anyway because more people spend money and more planes just pollute more

Munich: The actual numbers lag the calandar year by a good 4 months or so. According to the second link above, at the end of November, ATL had around about 70 million and ORD had 62 million.

Thanks Zahid for the Information!

But I think you have in your airport ranking the SEOUL-airport (SEL) forgotten. IT was last year on rank 13 with 36.73 m. passengers. Have you also informations about it.

SEL is a dometic airport since March 2001 - i.e., the opening of Incheon (SP?). during 2001, ICN had 14.4m passengers. I don't think SEL would make the Top list for 2001.
