As the future of a freshly educated airline pilot isn't looking too promising (like very very hard to get a descent job after spending 10's of thousands of dollars on your licenses as it is now) iv'e started to look into the ATC job. Is there any bigger differences between regulations in Europe and the US or is it possible for a european ATC controller to easily get a job in the states? The ATC school here in sweden is 2.5 years and you actually get paid while being there. And to top things of, you are garentueed a job when you graduate. Sounds pretty intresting to me. I'm giving it very serious consideration, although a airline pilot is what i wan't to be but not to whichever cost. And one could always join a flightschool after a couple of years when things looks a little better. I at least think it looks bad, especially here in sweden as the only good job you could get as a pilot is with SAS and they are not even recruiting pilots like it is now and add to that that there are litterally hundreds if not thousands of unemployed experienced pilots with 1000's of hours. Who are they gonna pick for the job? a freshly graduated guy with 250h or a former captain with 1000's of hours? Go figure...

No one?

I would also like to now what kind of salary US and other European ATC's are getting.

(I just realized the awful amount of text in my previous post, sorry for that, i should have broken it up more.)
