I'm looking at booking along haul holiday (10+ hours in the air) and the flight will be with Monarch on an A330. Has anyone any experiences of the superior cabin which Monarch now offer in their A330s, seat pitch and layout etc? It's £229 return each for the seats so I need to know if it's worth it. I've been longhaul on the A300 and to say it was cramped is an understatement - 3-3-3 doesn't work.
If MON have 3-3-3 in the normal layout for the A330 I would imagine Premiergold will be 2-4-2.

According to monarch's website, the premier seats are in a 2-4-2 layout. In my opinion I dont think it would be worth upgrading as the comfort levels wont be much better. Airtours have a 2-3-2 layout in their premium cabin, which i feel is a far better deal!

Having experienced 3-3-3 with a 29-30 inch pitch for 12 hours in a Monarch A300 (admittedly with a stop en-route) and a 2-4-2 32 inch on an Emirates A330 I think I'll be paying the extra, I've now found out there's a discount on the holiday which will just about pay for the upgrade.
I could fly 'Scaretours', but one very bad experience with the company has put me off for life (plus their brochure is too complicated - far too many offers with little stars saying 'for full conditions go to page xx' at the side for my liking!!).
