Due to the new bilateral agreement between the Taiwanese and Japanese governments, there are a number of new flights between the two capital cities of Taipei and Tokyo.

Effective 18 APR 2002, EVA Airways (BR) will increase their Taipei-Tokyo from 2 flights a week to 14 flights a week (ie 2 daily flights), code-sharing with Air Nippon (EL) on all flights.

Effective 18 APR 2002, Air Nippon (EL) will start operating daily Tokyo-Taipei flights, code-sharing with EVA Airways (BR) on all flights.

China Airlines (CI) will increase their Taipei-Tokyo flights from 21 flights a week to 22 flights a week.

Japan Asia Airways (EG) will increase their Tokyo-Taipei flights from 21 to 23 a week.

United Airlines (UA) will start operating daily Tokyo-Taipei flights.

Northwest Airlines (NW) will start operating Tokyo-Kaohsiung flights.

All flights to and from Tokyo will be landing at the NARITA (NRT) Airport. Taiwanses airlines (CI and BR) have always used Haneda (HND) airport in the pass.
