Because the increased weight of the winglets, as well as the added cost of having the planes all re--fit outweighed the fuel savings.....The winglets are good on long flights where the airplane is at cruise for long periods of time, most of WJ's flying is short haul flying, and so the winglets are not as usefull...But they sure look cool...
