What is the state of all the L-1011s flying around North America?
I was thinking to myself today that I have got to get myself aboard an L-1011 before they are all gone from the mainstream market. What are my best bets this summer? If there are any charter flighs to Vegas (from Chicago) that would be a plus since my friends and I want to go there anyway.

When I saw this topic I was like "Sheet... what L1011's?" I would just say check Air Transat (but you must be going to the Caribbean) and ATA. Charters to Vegas, Hawaii, and tourist destinations like that are your best bet. But try as hard as you can. I took my first and only L1011 flight in June of 2001 and I still have everything from it (ticket stubs, pictures, etc.). I loved it. I've never been in such a fast approach.

You can still do Air Transat L10's from YMX-FLL. Of if you're in Hawaii, ATA still has a quick 45min. hop from HNL-OGG and still operates them LAX/SFO-OGG/HNL. Can't think of anywhere else but I'm sure there might be a few I'm missing.

The IND-MCO-SJU-MCO-IND L1011 will run daily from June until I believe end of Augsut. The L1011 has been known to take a few delays on the route ( in past years) but rarely cancels. The route is currently operated by the 757-300.

We get L-1011s a lot as military charters, mainly for the overseas (note mainly Saudi. Oman, and Turkey) deployments. If we aren't taking one of our planes on a tail swap it seems the L-1011 is what we are always on. I just used one a few months ago, and we just got two loads back to Tinker with L-1011 Charters.
