4 777s a week to LGW.

Just posted this because I thought I read on here a few days ago that it was thought that BA would likely drop TPA.

I'm extremely surprised as I thought TPA was a route that didn't make money .

I am not surprised at all. Tampa is a fairly strong business market with strong ties to Britain and this is thier only non-stop service to Europe for a TOP 20 market. It might not be very high-yielding, but I am sure this route makes money.

I thought TPA was dead as far as BA was concerned, but it's nice to hear BA have kept the flight and added more.

Good on BA and congratulations to Tampa. Does any other European airline serve Tampa?

Condor no longer serves TPA. They dropped TPA-FRA last November.

I just passed by their ticket counter a month ago, are you sure? Hmmmm.... maybe that's why that 5:15PM arrival never shows up!  Laugh out loud

I am pretty sure. Their only US destinations right now are Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale, with Fairbanks and Anchorage starting up again in June. It's likely just a suspension.

Then I guess that just leaves us with BA! Believe me, the BA 777 is the ONLY excitement up here!! That's why I'm going to MCO tommorrow, and MIA/FLL in two weeks!

Yeah, your right, it appears that they resumed it. It was suspended after 9.11, though.

Trust me Condor is very much here in TPA still. They just moved the Condor and Cayman Airways ticket counter to the old TWA ticket counter area which is across from us.
Those BA flights seem to always be full too. My mother-in law flys those flights very frequently between TPA and LGW and everytime she tells me how she couldnt find an empty seat! Also when we flew it non-rev going to LGW coach was full so they bumped us to 1st class and on the return they said it was overbooked but managed to get us on in coach. That flight home I didnt see an empty seat either while walking around the aircraft.

I believe I can fly.....

Good!

About time we had some better news; airlines are cautiously starting to expand out again.

How many BA intercontinental routes are 2-class? There can't be many.

Regards

Mah4546 I don't know if you consider Puerto Rico part of the U.S -Condor considers it a U.S destination , so San Juan is also a U.S. destination served by Condor.

Hi CP long time no see. BA 2xclass to TPA KIN ANU for the start of the summer. The AML aircraft will be used on these routes and operated by BA crews (at last). They are to be reconfigured quickly though to take them to proper BA standard. ie: 3x3x3 in WT. Dont know if WT+ is to be added? Anybody know?

Now if only we could get service to LHR instead of LGW  Smile... Just returned from LHR via JFK on BA and must admit that direct service would've been nice...
