AMERICAN ADDS FLIGHTS FROM LOS ANGELES AS IT GEARS UP FOR THE SUMMER TRAVEL SEASON
FORT WORTH, Texas –American Airlines today announced that it plans to add nine daily round-trip flights from Los Angeles International Airport to complete its summer flight schedule. The new flights will begin between April and June, in time to meet the demand for the spring and summer vacation season, typically the busiest travel period for the airline.
"We continue to expand our schedule in Los Angeles to provide our customers with popular leisure and business destinations," said Bill Kramer, American’s managing director Passenger Sales West Coast Division and Canada. "We are encouraged by the increase we are seeing, in summer travel bookings."
Some of the new services being added include, two daily round trip flights to New York City’s JFK, three to Chicago’s O’Hare and a daily round trip to the Island of Kauai. Daily flights to Orlando and Toronto were also added to the schedule.
Currently, American’s Terminal 4 in Los Angeles is undergoing a
$270 million renovation scheduled for completion this fall. Some of the principal features include a new main ticket counter area, an outbound baggage system and a new international arrival facility.
American Airlines flies nonstop to 26 U.S. cities and three international destinations from Los Angeles International Airport. All passengers who travel on American in the main cabin will travel in the comfort of the carrier's popular "More Room Throughout Coach". American is the only airline to offer expanded the legroom throughout the coach cabin of its entire fleet.

American is making serious investments in its hub airports.
According to this article, it is undergoing a $270 million renovation at LAX. This is addition to their new terminal at JFK, MIA, and BOS expansion. Very impressive.
