Any B 777s For UA Between SFO And JFK/EWR/LGA?

Can anyone tell me whether or not, UAL provides B 777 service between SFO and JFK/LGA/EWR?

Also, NRT-JFK is still being flown by the B 777-200ER. Right?

Not sure about JFK/EWR - but definately not LGA. Actually, I do not think that there are any 777's flying the route, from what I have seen, Delta, AA, and United use a combination of 763, 762 and 757's. I am not sure if anyone else flies the route.

No. Only trans-cons with 777s are MIA-LAX, MIA-SFO, IAD-LAX, IAD-SFO.

UA flies 777s from EWR to LHR and from JFK to NRT. UA will also fly a 777 from JFK to LHR this summer. The777Man

LGA´s runway has several rstrictions, aircraft as large as the 777 can´t use the runway. I think that the largest airliners LGA could handle is the 763

LGA can handle B767-400, DC-10's & L1011's and even an A300-600ST Super Transporter.

UA flies a 777 from JFK to LHR for the evening flight. They downgraded to a 763 after 9/11 but it's now back to a 777. The morning flight between JFK and LHR has always been a 763.

I was told the largest plane LGA can handle is the 767-400. Can someone confirm this?

Well, do you consider a 767-400 larger than a DC-10 or L1011? I have photos of AA DC-10's and TW L1011's at LGA. The A300-600ST also visited but wasn't able to get any shots.

FrequentFlyKid, calm down? I wasn't attacking you either. All I said was I didn't forget them, sorry if you took it the wrong way, I apologize. LAX-ORD is not a trans-con for a very simple reason. A trans con goes from one side of the coast to the other. MIA-LAX, JFK-SEA, BOS-SAN, etc. Not even ATL-LAX is a transcon, because ATL is not on the coast.

But to answer your question...

On the SFO/LAX-JFK flights it is a 767 only route. This is what we call a premium transcon. The 767 is a perfict plane for this route as it is cheap to operate and can allow for maximum revenue to be brought in. The 767s used on this route feature 3 cabins of service, and often sell out the premium cabins.

EWR used to have a 767 from SFO, but that is gone now.
