Looks like Delta isn't planning on much transpacific growth. The carrier's LAX-NRT and JFK-NRT slots, which was formerly a PDX-NRT slot will go to FedEx as the Japanese government seems to be ready to allow DL to give them up to Fed Ex.
Delta's sole remaining transpacific flight is the daily ATL-NRT flight.
Delta also stopped flying from LAX to NGO (Nagoya) and used to have a PDX-SEL and a SEL-HKG flight years ago.

Wow! DL used to have a pretty decent Asian network, with cities from Bangkok to Seoul getting service. I guess the only Asian cities left are Tokyo and Delhi.

Delta didn't fly Delhi, it flies to Mumbai.
Japan was forced to allow DL give its slot to FedEx.
US is threatening that if Japan didn't allow DL to do so, they'll ask Japanese airline to cut flight to US as revenge.
Delta isn't pulling out of Asia. It just that it doesn't have enough 777 to fly Trans-Pacific. DL will be code-sharing with Korean Air to Tokyo, Osaka, Busan, Seoul; China Airlines to Taipei.

Delta needs to grow up! If they were serious about flying international, the squabble with the pilots on the 777 would be settled--it shouldn't be an issue anyway with the money to be made on int'l travel.
They need to realize this is a business and get in the game or go back to the intramural league.
...And they're going to be a major player in South America--yeah, right.TC

The squabble with the pilots is settled, or else the contract wouldn't be signed. The 777 are being modified to get the overhead crew rest just like the pilots wanted. BTW, growth takes time. Don't count DL out of south america yet.

You need to go get your facts straight. Then you can come back and tell us how much Delta sucks.

Delta is focusing more on Europe. There still exists a pilot issue, but as far as I know it on the 764. If a deal can be worked out, they'll resume ATL-HNL.

Actually, they also flew to BKK, TPE (both with L1011-500s) and FUK (M11) for a little bit before giving all of them up some years ago.

Didn't Delta have plans to start an Asian hub in Taipei?
