I was wondering if anyone as ever ran into a fellow airliners.net user when on a flight? How about even better like sitting next to one?

This coming Wednesday I will be flying SEA-CPH on SAS. This route is a popular one with aviation fans. Perhaps I will get lucky.

I met a few on DL1949 from MCO-ATL on 7/31/01. We were aboard for the L10 retirement.

If anyone wants to meet me, you're most likely to find me in the LHR spectator gallery. Big grin

How would you know?? If someone said to me '..are you a member of Airliners.net..?' it would be so funny! Laugh out loud

It would make a nice change though to talk to fellow pax that know what type of aircraft they are flying on! Yeah sure

I'm still waiting to sit next to one of those off-duty pilots! Laugh out loud

I met several on the last Delta L-1011 flight, including A330300, Cody, and DL_Mech. We were all there for the same reason.

I once flew ROA-CVG-DFW with another airliners.net member. We didn't plan for it to happen (it was a total concidence) but her and I did know we would be on the same flights before hand.

If she reads this...it was a turboprop! (inside joke)  Big thumbs up

Two years and a half ago, when I flew on the last Sabena 747 flight around Belgium, Pat747 who also lives in Brussels greeted me at the arrival's lounge after the flight. He took a picture of that particular airplane coming in for it's last landing in BRU.
I'm planning to fly MIA-TPA-MIA on Apr 30th on the last American 727 flight. I may meet 727LOVER in TPA, that's where he lives. I hope to meet more airliners.net members on that flight.

Last L1011 flight with DL. Bob, Cody, DeltaSFO, and a few others. I once was on a JB flight from JFK-ONT, started talking aviation next to the guy next to me...he said he had a friend in scotland who shot photos, turned out it was colin abbott (then the other guy next to me was also into aviation, had his magazine out etc). Great flight! Not on flights, I've met dozens though.

That might be a cool idea for a new forum, where we could post our flights beforehand and see if any fellow airliners.net members are around, plus it would be interesting too see people's routings.

Maybe we should all get A.net shirts and wear them when we fly. That should remove all doubt.
Oh,and also those "HELLO,my name is..." name tags with our screen names.:D

The forum is a good idea. They do that on flyertalk.com. Also, another idea that flyertalk has is to have brightly-colored Airliners.net luggage tags, so you can instantly spot fellow users in the airport, aboard planes, etc.

Interesting!

I think a furum is a good idea as well. Many airliners.net users fly alot and I am sure many have crossed paths with out even knowing about it.

If anyone is interested I will be flying tomorrow Wednesday the 27th on SAS 938 SEA-CPH. When I land in Copenhagen I plan to have a beer during my 1 1/2 hour layover. I then board SAS 868 CPH-BGO at 3:00pm. This will be Thursday in Europe.

Another way to meet fellow a.net members is to look out for every 16-25 y/o male on your next flight, and follow his behaviour to see if he's looking at all the small details we write in our trip reports. Big grin
